Our Summer Art Exhibition opens at Cafe Expresso in Taunton!

Check out our Summer Art Exhibition at Cafe Expresso in Taunton High Street which opened today and runs for a fortnight! It features art work inspired by Sonia Delaunay, Cath Hodsman, Marion Bolognesi, Gauguin, Cezanne, Magritte, Mondrian and Picasso.

We had a great time at the launch this afternoon. The children's art work looks fantastic and Cafe Expresso does great coffee and cakes. A huge thanks to Tracy who leads the HE Art History classes and who put this exhibition together and to Dean of Cafe Expresso for providing such a welcoming venue.

The kids are really looking forward to art classes starting again in the summer. If your child would like to join check out our facebook group 'HE Art History Taunton' or email he.arthistoryclasses@gmail.com. Tracy also has her own facebook page The Creative Home Educator

Our new literary/artistic review  'Free Spirit' is now available to download from our Publications page.  It is a fantastic collection of some of our children's original stories, poems and artwork. We hope to publish a couple of volumes each year and hope it will inspire other kids to get creating and share their work.

Pocahontas wishes to thank members of all the 'tribes' who attended today's Big Home Ed Pow Wow! She was mightily impressed at the way we all embraced Native American culture with wampum weaving and mastery of all other essential crafts -tomahawk, shield, tainstick, headdress, popcorn, cornbread and dream catcher making, tipi building and basketry. Should anyone plan on doing a project or event on Native American History and Culture she says you can borrow her resource pack which includes the history timeline, guide to Native American tribes,Pocahontas info display, National Geographic poster, tipi, playmobil Native American village play set, tomahawk and shield templates, willow for dream catcher making and all the instructions.
